Surgical clips

hi I found out I had surgical clips when I had a chest xray for an unrelated problem. It was a bit of a surprise when seeing them on the xray, and there were so many of them. I mentioned it to the surgeon at next apt, and she confirmed what they were, and that they shouldn't set off any metal detectors at the airport. Still, it would have been nice to be told that I had some foreign objects left behind in my body after surgery, rather than finding out like that. She didn't think it was a big deal, but I was a bit miffed at not being told.
