Sore bones and joints

Hi all. So everytime I get up from laying or standing, I am hurting everywhere.
It's ok once I get going though.
Why so stiff? I'm nearly 6 months post chemo. Does it get better?
  • I didn’t have chemo but take hormone therapy ( Letrozole) after radiotherapy both of which have impacts on joints  -some days particularly in winter it’s been quite hard in the morning or if I am stationarytoo long.

I take Krill Oil on recommendation of onc since starting hormone therapy but no real idea if working. What does make a huge difference however is exercise .

I walk daily for an hour and do a gentle exercise program involving light weights twice weekly .If I miss either I feel it badly. I also find if I start out achey within about 15 minutes or so I have moved thru it - something I learnt from district basketball sons.Basically the more I move the better I feel physically and mentally .

I gather it may be harder for chemo people however as it has bone impacts which can be longer lasting.I hope however it too can be exercised thru.
  • My whole body ached for a long time, particularly my knees. I was on fish oil and panadol osteo to cope.  I lost some weight and moved more which I think helped but I also believe some of it was just time. I don't take anything regularly now.
  • Hi @Spiv1803 I am also TNBC  and also have stiffness  when I get up but once I get moving i am not too bad . I hope it gets better it's 10 months now since I finished chemo  may ask the surgeon tomorrow when I see him but I don't think he will have an answer  as all he did was cut "boris" out
  • Hi @Spiv1803, chemo itself does it. I've suffered terrible since chemo finished last July. It hasn't helped since starting arimadex in  December.
  • Rotten! Are you on Tamoxifen or an AI?

I do know that TC, which I had, affects the fascia which can cause pain and stiffness but I don't know about the length of time. Hope it can improve for you. K xox
