Possible help for toe pain
fortstudy.com.au has a free trial thingy for people with osteoarthritis pain in their big toe. Not sure if they will take people who are on als but it may be worth a try.

Interesting, @Blossom1961 - a while back, I had serious big toe issues - when it struck, I could barely walk - I would have to stop mid stride, it was so painful and would last for days on end.
I wasn't sure if it was gout, arthritis or a side effect from the AI tablets!! Just now, it has settled down tho! So probably not a good candidate for the trial. grrr
