What he’s recommending is a DIEP or TRAM flap recon. There’s tons of info about these in the choosing reconstruction closed group - if you’re not a member you should definitely join - a lot of incredible gals have documented their ops and included photos - @kmakm has most recently generously shared her experience.
I can imagine you’re so disappointed! I’m sending you lots of healing vibes and hope that you’re off the I/V and out of hospital soon. It does sound like you’ve got a great medical team looking after you. It’s just so shitty that there’s so many unpredictable variables on this ride!
