Hi
I also had a non invasive DCIS in Dec 2013 after a routine yearly mammogram. Before biopsy they thought it was probably nothing, but pathology showed non invasive high grade DCIS. It was very small and fortunately all came out in the biopsy. A lumpectomy showed no further cancer at all. Hopefully that will be the same sort of scenario for your Mum. It's easy to say and it's hard not to worry, but try not to jump the gun. Just take one step at a time, if she's got good specialists and surgeons around her then she will be in good hands and they know what they're doing. If they are saying it is non invasive then that is good news as it must be incapsulated which is good. Hope all goes well with her surgery, keep us all posted. Try not to worry.
