Everything is shrinking!
I haven't been here for a while and thought this would be a good place for advice. Its 4 years since diagnosed with BC and 2.5 years post treatment.
I have been so focused on my general health, resuming work and looking after sick elderly parents that I have neglected my sexual health.
Basically everything is shrinking (except for my waistline). 56 and post menopause, sex is very painful. I've been using Yes moisturiser and lubricant and not able to use any hormone treatments.
My question is does anyone have experience using vaginal dilator therapy and physio?
I think I'll need to see a gynaecologist at some point after the holiday period.
Thanks in advance.

- kmakmMember@SoldierCrab Both things I am struggling with at the moment.
- SoldierCrabMembergood as these are serious issues for our ongoing mental health and enjoyment ;)
- kmakmMemberYes, that thought has crossed my mind too @SoldierCrab. She's a bit younger than me so has yet to reach menopause naturally. I do wonder if experiencing vaginal issues, hot flushes etc herself will inform her professional work. I am serious when I say I will ask her at the next appointment. It will be easier, her being female, but I am not backward about coming forward on these issues.

you might have more appropriate information from your onco since she is female.... My suggestion is dont leave it get on top of it quickly as I suffered for about 12mths thinking it was just me until I found this group. - RomlaMemberI was on vagifem pessaries before breast cancer but stopped as thought it was a no no - will talk to my surgeon and gynae about this
- kmakmMemberThank you for the heads up ladies. I have been dreading this part of the whole sorry business. Trying to avoid thinking about it to be honest. But as the aromatase inhibitor draws nigh I'm thinking I need to pull up (or down I should say!) my big girl undies and engage with the issue. I'm certainly not going to wait for my oncologist to raise it; I'll jolly well going to ask her straight out at the next appointment, which will be when she gives me the prescription. Sigh.

yes they should be telling us and also giving us information on what ok to use and what isn't ok to use. - CassieBMemberExcellent news @Lisa1965! The Oncos really should be telling us about this stuff before it happens! It's taken me almost three years to figure it out for myself!
- Lisa1965MemberIt’s been a bloody godsend the cream. I’m back to normal and non painful sex again. I was so relieved.
