Another pony pic. This one from a long time ago. It was the day after I'd had my lump out, while I was waiting for the inevitable bad news. The last day of not knowing for sure.
Big was an absolute champion and just trundled round in circles while I tried to be just about anywhere else. I'd only owned him for a week and he hadn't been ridden in 5 years.
- kezmuscMemberThank you @PatsyN. Glad to hear you aren't far off getting back on the horse, so to speak. His name is Chevy and he is cutting/reining bred. He likes doing as little as possible LOL.
- PatsyNMember@primek Although it gave you a happy surprise it's another example of miscommunication between doctor and patient. This time with a happy outcome. You look very chuffed with yourself for someone who's just come out of a major operation. And look at that skin.
I also see a determination, forward stance, hands on lap...
xo - PatsyNMember@kezmusc I love your photo. I wonder how many women are out there yearning to be on their horse once again. It won't be long for me. Your horse looks beautiful. You look like a no nonsense kinda gal. Call a spade a spade but with loads of mischief, lol.
My blacky has had to put up with a variety of riding styles due to me sharing him with my daughter in the earlier years. She liked jumping, dressage and pony club but I like bush and the beach although he was bred for cutting! - kezmuscMemberI love this photo. Just being on my horse I felt like the normal me. BC and it's treatments could fade into the distance for a while.
- kmakmMemberStunning @PatsyN and @AllyJay. What a smile @primek!
- primekMemberI have pics of my hair after coming off, but none of the beautiful bear hug my son gave me as I sobbed with clumps of hair in my hands before contacting the hairdresser. The memory firmly stored forever. I can't imagine what that was like for him. He was 16.
- primekMemberWaking up and finding out my surgeon had given me instant foobs following my bilateral mastectomy ...it bloody hurt...but I was expecting my tissue expanders to be flat. Of course there are 4 drains attached and shortly after the vomiting started but I was happy for a short time there.
- PatsyNMember@AllyJay Thank you for those. I can see love, concern and devotion.
All feel good emotions even though you're at your worst ebb.
Pain can indeed be beautiful.
