Also have to add the best thing anyone ever said to me was "I don't know what to say. I am so sorry you have to go through this. I wish I could offer you some kind of comfort. Can I give you a hug?" That was from a female work colleague. Out of everything everyone ever said, I found this to be the most comforting because it was honest, real and thoughtful.
