Interesting discussion. Seems to me an Australia Card (years ago an outcry against) by stealth. I know we have a huge foot print on line with banking, purchases, bills, browsing - nothing safe. I have opted out of this because I have a choice now and may not later. The tax office, banks, centrelink and other government agencies have enough info on me already. Not ready to give it all away yet. Tired of living in "Big Brother" land.; Even in opting out I had to prove who I was.. wonder what happens with that information.; sigh.
