I don't have any answers for you, @SJLY, but I wanted to share a resource that might help. Have you heard about Mummy's Wish? It's an organisation that aims to support families with children 12 and under. One of the things they do is create comfort teddy bears. They come with a voice recorder so you can record a message and give the teddy bear to your child.
