I was 64 when diagnosed & was totally blindsided ... there was NO cancer in our family - we all died from Heart Attacks! (I thought, smugly!) It is a real roller coaster ride - probably with downs than ups, initially .... but it does flatten out eventually.
If you go to your post on Newly Diagnosed, there are a LOT of good links there to read or listen to ... the Charlotte Tottman podcasts are just brilliant .... and if you want to read of a top British Breast Cancer Surgeon who was diagnosed (with 2 more recent diagnoses as well) ... she has written a very open & honest Blog .... Dr Liz O'Riordan. She was an extremely fit triathlete & had no kids - and was totally blindsided & only when she received her OWN diagnosis, did she realise that she too, as a surgeon, had not shown enough empathy towards her own patients ... She is very active on Instagram, explaining any new meds that come out & different aspects of BC & its treatment. Start on the 'oldest' post to follow her story and work your way forward ..... Blog started at 21st July 2015. https://liz.oriordan.co.uk/blog/page/4/
All the best for your biopsy results on Wed xx Try not to get ahead of yourself - as @Cath62 says - take each day as it comes - every hour, if needed .... Ring our helpline on 1800 500 258 if you'd like to chat with someone 'independently' ..... just chatting really helps, sometimes.
