I totally hear you. Between Dr Google and helpful “advice” I nearly drove myself demented after my diagnosis.
I also had no tests or bloods done before surgery so think this is pretty normal. Unless your sister is a surgical nurse I would ignore her.
It’s hard but the best advice I can give you right now is to surrender. If you have a surgeon you trust just follow their directions.
