Hi shanny63
Cancer is such a cruel thing and for those who have lost family members to it, it is adds another level of stress / trauma. I was diagnosed with high grade DCIS toward the end of last year & had a double mastectomy with immediate implants in November. My Mum is a breast cancer survivor but my aunt passed away from it in her early 40's and they lost their Mum to bc when they were both young teenagers. That 'history' was in the back of mind when I was diagnosed and I did have quite the panic at first, thinking the worst. Navigating cancer is complicated enough but to add a rocky marriage to it must be incredibly hard for you. Definitely reach out to the helpline when you need it. The girls in the no recon group will also be a great source of support. Do you have any friends or work colleagues who would be able to help out after your mastectomy? All the best with your surgery and recovery journey
