There are already a few tests out there predicting which type of treatment will be best for your type of Breast Cancer, but they can cost thousands of dollars - hopefully this one isn't as expensive, if and when it becomes available to patients.
A new, simple blood test can predict which breast cancer treatment will work best, study finds
DNA test means patients could be offered most effective treatment first, boosting their chances of beating the disease.
The test, developed by a team at the Institute of Cancer Research, London (ICR), analyses circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA), which is released into the blood of patients by cancer cells.
(my edit: there has been huge interest in Circulating Tumour Cells (ctDNA) for well over 5 years now, as these are the microscopic cancer cells that may be missed with surgery & chemo/treatment - possibly leading to recurrence further down the line.)
