Recon After Radiation - Timeframe

I had my right mastectomy in February 2023, chemo straight after for 6 months, radiation for a month (finishing in October 2023) and then my reconstruction journey started in February 2025. I was told to wait also as the Dr needs to see how your body has changed after the radiation damage. This can take 12 months so it was not recommended I start recon for over 12 months after radiation. I hope this helps. I wish you all the very best in your recon journey.
