Hi Helen, I personally think that having your implant replaced for a smaller one would be of great benefit - particularly as you say that your surgeons have both said it is too wide and too hard. I did a bit of reading that went along the lines of if the implant is too wide, too large it may also be too heavy for the breast area and the skin pocket and this can lead to problems down the track. As for textured versus smooth implants a lot of surgeons are using textured implants now to try and stop encapsulation and to stop displacement of the implant, but smooth implants also have their own benefits. I think the thing to keep in mind is that your medical team are stating that it is too wide and unless you have a desire to have larger breasts the comfort factor is going to affect your daily life.
