I made my appt in Feb for July at Macquarie Hosp. I felt very rushed last Friday when I met him for the second time, but I do know that he is good. I think I have to trust him that he knows best.
I have had a mastectomy and chemo and radio on the Left. He will reconstruct this one with DIEP but said I do not have enough tummy fat to do the other side (I am having a mastectomy here too cos there is a strong family history of BC and I'd like my risk to be zero), so I need a silicone implant on this side. He seems to think it will match well. I am worried about where my scars will be and worried about his need to implant skin too. I thought it would be just the skin I already have with my own tissue behind it.
What are you having? Where did he say the scar would be? I thought it would be low down below undie line but apparently its a bit higher than that.
I'm feeling a bit anxious about it all.
