DECISION MADE

Hi all,

Well today was the day for another opinion.

I came away from the appointment and felt like a whole weight had lifted. The Surgeon, Dr Lucia Saliba is going to give me new boobs. She is going to do a breast reduction and lift on both breasts. After removing the Ca. she will make em look like new ones. This is all being done on the 28th July, so the count down is on.

I will need to have about 6 weeks of Radiotherapy but Im hoping I cope with that ok. Time will tell I guess.. I had my hair cut short cos i was not going to able to use my left arm much after the node removal but now i will have both arms out of action for a bit.

I have been able to smile again and mean it.

  • So the other bit is ER PR and Her2 neu status.

They will retest all this again after removal so it might be slightly different  mine was....and then that will determine what comes next as well as lymph nodes.

If ES Pos only. ..they can now do an oncotype DS test on the tumour which will determine if it is likely to return and can be a better option that just having chemo regardless. If it is also Her2 this isn't  appropriate. The test is about $1,000 and isn't  coveted by PBS currently.

Morecthings tobthonk about but your surgeon will explsin all with your followcup pman orvif referred to an oncologist. Goodluck. Kath x

  • thanks Kath,, yeah it is something that Im happy to take on... it was one of 3 choices and this was the most feasible one for me.

I found some paperwork today with the Pathology results from my biopsy.. not sure why I didnt find it before but ok found now.

Stage 2 .. Grade 2 Invasive Carcinoma.. it was the Grading that I did not know about...
