Chicken Fillet

Amazing how a chicken fillet can make you feel! Some people have reconstructions early in the process. Some only ever use the 'pillow' in the bra given to us in hospital after the mastectomy. Then there's the chicken fillet!

I was told 10 weeks from surgery I could look at getting a breast prosthesis. I made an appointment at the Lingerie shop at Burnside Village where there are about 4 women trained to fit you. We took about an hour trying different shapes and sizes and bras to put them in.

Felt good to be balanced and to look 'normal'. Unfortunately I have tissue where the arm joins the chest above the breast area that can still swell occasionally. The area on my back round from the surgery site also can still get puffy. So... any bra can tend to cut into these spots.

Start of the day I feel great and balanced. End of the day can't wait to take it off - along with the wig!
