I have just finished reconstruction with the saline expanders! My Dr. here in Adelaide has just told me about the air ones, wish I had known about them earlier, I would have waited until they were available! I had a leaky valve in my expander and the saline went into my body, apparently there is no problem with that! They thought they would have to put another expander in but may be able to fit the permanent implant in. Luckily I got the permanent implant but it was very tight for the first month and I have had some cording & tight muscle problems from it. I can see that the air expanders would most probably alleviate the problems I have had.
