10 sleeps to go
Hi to all,
only 10 sleeps left until my DIEP flap transfer, and I'm fit, well and ready to roll. In February my mammogram was clear on my one and only, and yesterday I had an appointment with my rads oncologist who was also happy with my health, saying that it was the best time to have the surgery.
Ive been swimming and waking, and going to the gym, so I'm as fit as I can be for the surgery, and hope that this will help me to recover better.
Ive got mixed emotions about the whole thing, mostly positive thoughts and a few nerves. Will be happy to put my breast prosthesis "Bertha" back into her "boob box" for the last time.
My husband, kids and my friends have all been awesome through the last year and a bit, and are still good for a laugh and a cuddle when required. Here's to a week of it, let's get the job done.
Sending you all a big cuddle, and lots of thanks for your great support and fellowship along the way.
Cheers and lots of love, Trace ????????????

I had my surgery at St Vincent's private and the staff were amazing. Having a sense of humour helps so much.

Hi Rowdy, nice to see your post. Our daughter lives in Blackburn, so my hubby and I will hang out there through the process. Having the surgery at St Vincent's Private.
Glad you like Berthas name, I also have a "Bathing 'Bertha" for my bathers, so it has a bag that it lives in.
My surgeon gave me the job of naming my new breast. As I was well endowed at high school, my nickname was "Bubbles" so have decided have that as the name my new breast. Gotta have a sense of humour about these things.
Sending you a big cuddle right back ??????
Sounds like you are more than ready to face this next phase!
Wishing you all the very best!
youre always sending supportive messages to all of us, so take ours in and use them as more strength!
Love and light for easy recovery and beautiful days
