Many thanks to everyone for your kind good wishes. Delicious almond cake with a plum purée has been had, but as partner has a (routine) colonoscopy tomorrow, is doing the fasting/purging misery, and has a birthday on Sunday (he gets to live with an older woman for 4 days) we'll keep the celebratory dinner for Friday or Saturday!
