Menopause After Cancer Clinic
I was wondering if anyone had accessed the Menopause After Cancer Clinic at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne? What was your experience like? What menopause symptoms were they able to help with?
My mets nurse recommended it and then my GP wrote me a referral. The tablets I am on are originally for moods but they found that they worked for hot flushes as well, which is why they are happily giving them to hot flush patients. I found I needed to cut the dose down as they were making me slightly nauseous. They are not hormonal. The doctor at the clinic interviews you and then decides the best treatment for your situation.
There is a long wait to get in so get a referral a.s.a.p. The nurses there are also happy to talk to you prior to your appointment. I rang them just to make sure I was on the right track going through them. Ring them up and discuss your situation and what you are hoping for from them and they will advise whether they can help or not.
