A pathologist explains & shows how Lobular 'presents' in the pathology slides ...
Well worth a watch, to understand it a bit better.

I agree @arpie - well worth watching this video interview- I didn’t fully appreciate how ILC would have been harder (if not impossible) to detect through routine mammogram and that it doesn’t always present with a lump.
I agree - a fuller understanding about ILC characteristics and pathology give a fuller picture to the person with BC when they are weighing up surgical options like lumpectomy vs mastectomy and a better appreciation of the benefits of radiotherapy and post surgery treatments after surgery.
I am thankful that at the start my breast surgeon requested a battalion of diagnostics - ultrasound, biopsies, MRI and PET scans. It was a bit taxing but I assume these enabled ILC to be detected and it was taken into account in my treatment and surgery regime.I support the journalists call for better research into ILC and awareness raising about the shortcomings in current conventional scans for detection of ILC.1 -
It is an incredibly informative video - and seeing how the slides look vs the 'non lump' biopsy ...
