So yep, newly diagnosed...46 years old, no kids and I took the pill for 10+ years...no doubt all contributing factors. Ended up with grade 2 DCIS with small invasive component, detected on routine screening thanks to a strong family history (mum and both grandmothers, plus a few other relatives) and several previous benign fibroadenomas. Lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy and now about to commence 5 weeks of radiation therapy and then Tamoxifen, neither of which I want to do. Am also right in the throes of perimenopause and the periods from hell, because it's not shit enough to have breast cancer, the downstairs situation also has to mess with me. Of course there is nothing I can do about it at the moment and I hear Tamoxifen may even make it worse... Anyway, hi...

Oh dear, @Perth_girl77 - perimenopause is no fun at all on its OWN, let alone mixed in with all the rest of what's going on xx. I was mid 60s when diagnosed, so well past the menopause bit - and the tablets didn't really change anything that much - but made my aches & pains worse .... but i was arthritic too! OMG - if i was a horse, they'd shoot me!
Welcome to the forum tho - you are in the right spot for support from others who have gone before you xx. Whack up ANY questions - there are NO silly questions ... and someone will give you an informed answer.
All the best with your Rads xx ..... remember to lather up AFTER each treatment (not before) ... and ask about Mepitel Film if you find your skin is getting red & angry 'early' ..... it is sort of like Clingwrap that is put onto your Rad site to help prevent severe burning
Check out this post for a few areas in the forum, where we actually get up to a bit of fun & share pics of our pets, gardens, and jokes - yes, we even have a laugh now & then!!! (God knows we need the laughs!). Feel free to comment and/or add pics on any of them!!

Take care & all the best for your ongoing treatments3 -
Hi @Perth_girl77 that all sucks! However I did smile at the headline "shitty titty club". I am 45yo and on zoladex and letrozole so I hear you. It's crappy to add in menopause to the cancer shit show. This is a great support network and I can also recommend the wonderful BCNA podcasts. All the best with everything.

I had the periods from hell, and so a hysterectomy at 39, so I hear you. I, too, love your headline: I have found humour helps me. Hang in there: you can do this!4

Also Perth here. Love the shitty titty. Mine was caught early … lumpectomy and radio…one year on am taking letrazole and am ok. But I find this forum comforting, because no matter the stage or the age, you need others around you. Take care x6
