I have posted this link into the Carer's Group but think that not all who are on a Home Care Package are in the group .... so posting it here as well.

This is for members who actively CARE for friends or relatives, too.

It seems they are making MORE changes (after big changes were made last June as well) that you should be aware of ..... from the web ....

    Hi @arpie,
many thanks for this, my partner is my carer and we are both on a level 1 home care package, but with my disease progressing this could change so thanks for the heads up.

Just found another one ....... if you've had hassles applying for or getting your 'carer' onto the Payment .... Carers Australia want to hear from you.

If you are on facebook, it would pay to follow the Carers Australia page and also the Carers Support Group

A member of the Carers Support Group posted this .....

I saw the following in an email from one of the services allegedly providing support to carers (I personally haven't received any help), asking for input into the processes surrounding applying for carers payment or allowance.
If you've had any recent issues with centrelink this might be the place to air and discuss issues.

"Carers Australia is working with Services Australia to identify and address any issues that carers may encounter while applying for the carer payment and carer allowance. To ensure carers' voices are appropriately represented in these advocacy efforts, they are seeking input from carers who are either receiving these payments or in the process of applying for them.

This could include procedural difficulties such as engaging with Centrelink, experiencing long wait times, encountering issues with application forms, or lacking clarity about reasons for rejections. They are also interested in learning about any challenges in obtaining medical reports for the individuals in your care, navigating the identification document requirements, or providing financial information, and any other issues or concerns with the process.
