Connecting and sharing experiences online
Morning all,
This week in the online network we've seen members connect through blog posts - old and new and it's made for a busy week with a total of 30 new blog posts and 243 comments. We also welcomed 43 new members from across Australia including east coast NSW, VIC and QLD, all the way up to the NT and across the west to WA.If you want to connect with others in and around your area, search for an online group - https://www.bcna.org.au/online-network/groups
With members using the new and improved 'Latest activity' feed we have seen a range of topics discussed including milestones, anniversaries, side effects and tough decisions. You can find all the latest blog posts here - https://www.bcna.org.au/online-network
With the continuing growth - we are supporting 14,103 online network members, so a big thank you to all those who shared their experiences, jumped in and offer their words of support and encouragement to old and new.
We continued to work through a range of improvements, some you will see others will be back end improvements, however this week they are all you can not see. However, here is a recap of the priority fixes/improvements we continue to work through:
- Deleting messages – There are a couple of known issues with the delete function in your mailboxes.
- Online groups – We will be implementing a few fixes within the online groups to make our amazing online group facilitators lives a little easier including content tagging, membership acceptance and management
- Services and support directory - there are a few design and search issues we are working through.
- Site wide search - improve display of results and include blog posts
If there are aspects of the website you still find confusing, please leave a comment on the blog post to let us know. Other members may be able to help you, and we can review the Help and FAQ if there is a need for specific advice.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend
~Daina and Jess

Hi Kazza, that's really great to hear! The women in the network are so supportive and welcoming and I am so glad you're getting that little extra support from those who have 'walked in your shoes'. Good luck for your upcoming surgery. x Daina

Hi Daina,
thanks for the update. I was just wondering if any work was being done on notifications of posts we have commented on? We do get notifications if a post that I started gets comments. However as I often comment on other posts apart from my own, it would be really great if we got notifications when others commented on these. For instance If someone else commented on this post of yours it would be nice to know. It is sometimes hard to remember which posts you have commented on and then go back and see if there is a response. I think I could be missing others responses to replies I have made to their posts.
Keep up the great work.

That is an important one for sure! One which I didn't think we had a problem with but that is why it is important to hear from you all :-) I will check with Jess to see if she has experienced and it is logged and I will test myself and work out the exact issue. Stay tuned ;-) - Daina

Hi Diana & Jess
I only joined up the other day, after being diagnosed 3 weeks ago and have already found your site very resourceful and extremely supportive. I must admit I'm fairly shy and suffer from social anxiety (even online) and find it difficult to share my feelings and thoughts in an open forum like this. But since reading everyone's stories I am starting to relax a bit more. I am an artist & designer by trade, so communicang my ideas and feelings is something that i do, but it doesnt come easy. I hope this forum will help me be more open to sharing and learning from others.
