I have a suggestion too, in the same vein as improving the end user experience.
Checking updates currently involves a process that feels like a chore. We get a message for every response, have to click through to the message and then click through from that message to eventually get to the blog post where we see all the posts we've received notifications for and have to scan for and delete in our inboxes.
When my connection gets slow I just don't use the side because it's so frustrating.
I'd like to see the inbox organised in to nested responses, and personal alerts.
I couldn't express the ideas properly in writing so I made a mock-up which I hope makes sense.
Would anyone else like to see this?
