Hi Anne-Marie,
The email notification that you are receiving to your personal email is letting you know all the activity that you are part of.
If you are part of different groups then the (6 blogs) will be telling you there are new posts into those groups as well as the main feed.
The (43 messages) are a combination of private messages to you and comments others have made on posts that you have commented on.
All your messages show up in "Messages" next to the "Profile" button.
If you don't want to receive the notification email, go to "Setting" under your profile picture at the top and "Un-tick" the notification box. With notifications it's all or nothing.
Does this all make sense? If not I can give you a call when I am back in the office on Tuesday.
