You'll love this. I went to apply for early release of some of my super on financial hardship grounds, only to find that when Cancer Oz paid me sitting fees for some committee work it meant that I was 'employed' as I didn't get a newstart payment that fortnight. So, back to square one and I can't access it until June. FFS.
I'd rather have some of it now while it will be of use to me as there is no way I will live to retirement age. I've got bugger all in there anyway and the interest rate is lower than what I'm paying on my mortgage. What's the bet, just before I can get my trembling hands on a bit of it there will be a financial crisis of some sort and a pack of white collar criminals will run off with the lot. Humph.
