Many thanks BCNAโ for this wonderful honour! I love the box of goodies - and will be wearing/using all of it!!
Many thanks for the kind words Afraserโ and Ann58โ xx Your own support is legendary Afraser xx
I will never forget the wonderful support and wisdom from members that helped me when I was diagnosed back in 2018! I was like a rabbit caught in the glare of headlights & had no idea if I would have a mastectomy or 'just' a lumpectomy - or anything about the followup treatment .... and BCNA members rallied to my cause and talked me thru it calmly and methodically xx
I've only finished my treatment 12 months ago, myself, (after surgery, radiation & 7 years of taking Hormone Suppression meds) so it is all still very fresh in my memory! This combined wisdom/support from BCNA (including Mods) really helped me to navigate every area of decision making and treatment with confidence, so I reckon I am really just parroting a lot of what was said to me back then ..... plus adding some of my personal bits as well ....
Mind you, the wheels fell off a few times in my own story, with lots of tears - so most of us have (or will) hit a few speed humps now & then ... but with the support of BCNA members & Mods, your family & friends - you WILL get thru this sh*t show and come out the other side, to continue loving life & doing what you love! xx
IF you ever find fellow members living nearby, I would encourage you to make contact & even if just to meet for a cup of coffee & a chat in an 'open space'!
I've met up with about 10 members over the years & have visited a few of them too .... in Darwin, WA and Vic - and a couple of members have visited me here, in NSW, one as recently as 2 weeks ago!! ....
I have a close association with 4 members in particular ... catching up with one, just 10 days ago when was in Vic for 5 days! Forming wonderful friendships & support within the group is a part of the wonderful camaraderie of BCNA xx
Wishing everyone all the best, take care - and thank you xx
