Photos, my hair calendar - Month by month, 10 months post chemo
I remember visiting this site during the whole hair loss stage looking for photo stories about hair and often wondered how long my hair would take to grow back. I have created a collage with photos starting from when last chemo finished until today (exactly 10 months on) showing how my hair has grown month by month.
I just have to add, I was blessed with the chemo curl phenomenon so don' be disheartened if it doesn't look as long as it should after 10 months because the curls are really tight and my hair are basically double the length when wet. So with the curls they look fairly short but I have heaps of it! I would say roughly 10 cm's when pulled out straight and I have had one style cut (mostly just the back of my neck as it was getting to hot and thick). I have trimmed off only the ends of the top bit.

I never went to the workshops cause both times I booked in I ended up in Hospital and the other time I was so unwell I couldn't go. I am sure you are going to love it, I have only heard good things about the workshop xChristina 55 said:Thanks Ne. The photo is lovely- such a happy face. - Hi Ne, I've been wondering if someof these older posts survived the change over. Glad to see this one did. I lost my last remaining eyebrow about 7-8 weeks after finishing chemo last year. The eyebrows were also fairly quick to come back, although they've never gotten as thck as they were. I still feel ripped off that I didn't get chemo curls, a slight wave only, that's already dropping out. Not planing on lettingmy hair get longer, though. Love having it short.

Hi Christina, I just found this photo of me 1 week after my last chemo to show the brows hanging on for dear life but note, I had drawn in with a little brow pencil too.Ne said:

They grew back the quickest from all my body hair. Good luck with the rest of your treatment hun. Hi Christina. Yes the brows and eyelashes were lost but they were a bit slow to come out. My brows were fine but stuck around thill the very last dose of chemo and then fell out. They grew back the quickest from all my body hair. Good luck with the rest of your treatment hun. Thank you Jane, the two photos in this last pic was taken on the same day. Just to show how bad the curls looked combed out as opposed to tamed with my curling cream....lol.. Was having fun with it much to the amusement of my teenage children. With regards to my photo calendar, I was wanting to keep going month by month but I have now started cutting my curls into a style, so the lenght doesn't show as much any more. I am trying to grow it into a concave bobbish style, but will see how I go with the hotflushes and summer around the corner! Won't be easy...Hopes and Dreams said:Love the photos Ne! - Taming the Chemo Curls...LOL....here is the reason why you do not want to put a brush to your chemo curls!
It just do not work! :D Yayyyyyyyyy to sophisticated silver!!! I love how the media have decided that silver hair is beautiful now too and are featuring silver haired ladies in their ad campaigns - about time. Fantastic that's yours is growing back thick too Kath. All the best. Xx Cath
