Hi Ladies, I am looking for lovely ladies who have undergone breast reconstruction and wish to share their experience! It doesn't matter when you had your reconstruction, you may have had it done years ago or just recently. I have started a private group called 'Breast Reconstruction' to share stories and images of reconstruction. There are ladies in the group who have joined and are looking for all sorts of answers and you might just be the right person they need to connect in with. Please consider joining this private and secure group to share your story and if you are comfortable, pop up a picture. Click the link below to take you to the private group: http://www.bcna.org.au/group/61026 Important: All member requests go to me (LouiseTurner) as group facilitator and I will review and approve. This helps to ensure your privacy is maintained. Louise361Views1like31CommentsNEW Private Group - Triple Positive Breast Cancer (TPBC)
Hello members, If you have been diagnosed with 'Triple Positive Breast Cancer' (TPBC) or supporting someone with this breast cancer type, you may have asked whether we have a private group available for people. Currently we do not have a dedicated group, however there are several members who would like to see a specific group and we want to create the conversation: What is TPBC? TPBC is breast cancer that has higher-than-typical levels of estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and HER2 protein (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2). Hormone receptor and HER2 status are determined during breast cancer diagnosis. You can read more about the role of hormones and HER2 via our website Hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer Please provide feedback as to whether you feel you or someone diagnosed with TPBC would benefit from having access to an Online Network private group (Please leave your comment in this discussion thread)273Views1like11CommentsSutherland Lymphoedema Support Group

Hello members, We have had some great conversations and feedback recently in relation to starting a new group for people who have not had breast reconstruction following breast cancer surgery. I would love feedback in relation to the following questions: * Name of the group * Should the group be private or public When thinking of the name of the group we must ensure it captures people who for a variety of reasons and/or circumstances have not had breast reconstruction. Some of these reasons may be: they might decide they don’t want to have any more surgery than they need to treat the cancer; they want to be able to get back to their normal activities as soon as possible; they are just more comfortable with how they look and feel after the surgery; financial barriers prevent them from have breast reconstruction; breast reconstruction might be difficult, or even not possible, because of other health issues they have; breast reconstruction has been delayed. We agree that there are different challenges and questions faced by people who are either considering wearing a breast form or prosthesis (inside the bra or attached to the body to wear under their clothes) or going flat (not wearing a breast form). Look forward to your valuable input. Hello members, Thankyou to those who participated in the discussion and have assisted in bringing to life a new group for people who for various reasons, do not have breast reconstruction following a single or double mastectomy or may be in the process of considering no breast reconstruction. The new private group has been created and can be found via the link https://onlinenetwork.bcna.org.au/group/29-flat-chat-no-breast-reconstruction It will also be added to the 'Groups' drop-down menu soon for easy access. As with the other private groups on the Online Network you will have to request to join or be invited by a moderator. With this in mind as we head into the weekend, my colleague has been given the heads up that there may requests to join when the team are back on deck Monday. Please reach out if you have any questions.181Views3likes0CommentsS E QUEENSLAND SUPPORT GROUPS
