Wonderful 'activity' opportunities available to BC folk after 'active treatment' finishes
Hi guys If you have completed your 'active treatment' (ie surgery, chemo & Rads (- your AI tablets don't affect your ability to apply .... ) there are some wonderful philanthropic organisations that are happy to provide you with 'new challenges' or a free holiday with family & friends ...... I am sure that if you are comfortable with any ongoing treatment (other than AIs) that you would ALSO be able to engage in these activities. 2 that I am aware of, and I am SURE there are more - if you know of any more (irrelevant of what state they are in) please add them here! No. 1 The Otis Foundation is basically Australia Wide, where wonderful families make their 'holiday shacks' available to those with breast cancer when they are not using it themselves - at NO COST with all bedding etc included - all you have to do is get there & take your own food (and trust me, they are NOT really 'shacks' ....) I stayed at one in Thredbo in 2019 and it was WONDERFUL! Some can cater for up to 8 people or more - so you can choose family and/or friends to attend with you!
