Shaving head to bald - do I go to a barber?
Hi ladies, Just diagnosed with BC early May and have done 3 out of 4 chemo sessions. I have a tiny bit of grey hair left all over but wanted to maybe shave it all off completely by going to a barber (so having a shiny completely bald head). Anyone else done this? Would love to hear from you. Thanks Kerrie x671Views1like25CommentsEyebrow tattoo / microblading / feathering in Melbourne for cancer patients
Searching for a reputable eyebrow tattoo service, for microblading / feathering in the Melbourne Metro region. Has anyone recently had this procedure done and do you know if there are any suppliers that offer a discounted rate for cancer patients?281Views0likes2CommentsTo Shave or not to shave?
Hi everyone would like to know your experience. Just about finished my last round of Chemotherapy, hair is starting to grow back but it’s quite light and fluffy. Spoke to a lady the other day and she said that she shaved her head again to get rid of the fluff, once it grew back it looked and felt like hair . Any other thoughts out there?231Views0likes7CommentsHair today...
I got my first post-chemo haircut yesterday (as opposed to the No. 1 I gave myself). I hadn't seen my lovely hairdresser since before this shit began. I didn't want to tell her what was going on over the phone as she has lost too many close family members over the last couple of years to various cancers. But she knew as soon as she saw me yesterday that I had had chemo. There still wasn't enough hair for her to do a lot but now it looks like I've got a short cut rather than being pulled through a hedge backwards. And she was so nice - even though it took her the better part of an hour, she refused payment.2.1KViews0likes72CommentsHair Colour
So, I'm thinking 5 steps ahead as usual. Now that chemo is over, I'm looking more closely at my hair. At the moment, I've got some grey and brown regrowth on the sides and some longer, sparse sections along the top that are white (and I don't think ever fell out). I know there's not much point doing anything at present until I see some real growth but wondering if anyone has any recommendations for semi-permanent home colour. Unfortunately, I'm not in the financial position to see the hairdresser for colour (and while she's lovely and probably wondering where I am, she's got her bills to pay, too) so I would like to know the brands that others have used that have been successful and gentle. I'm not thinking about anything drastic at first - just something that will give me a bit of a lift - so, maybe a very light brown or blonde that will take on post-chemo hair.121Views0likes6CommentsWhat to do with my hair 5 months after chemo? Hair dyes?
Hi, My hair is fairly thick now but still very short and a bit wavy, especially at the back, puffy on the top, flicks out at my ears. l am hating the colour, it is such a weird salt and pepper colour with a tinge of red. I did not have this much grey before, l am a natural redhead, l did get a few foils in my hair regularly before l lost my hair from chemo. Will my hair go back to it's original colour or am l stuck with mostly grey hair now? How safe is it to dye my hair and can l expect to get the colour that l want? I will go to a professional. I would love to hear from those that have coloured their hair after chemo, how long after and what results they got. I hate looking in the mirror, l feel as if l have lost myself. Cheers, Karen5.6KViews0likes34Comments- 311Views2likes30Comments
Will the curls stay? Plus trouble growing eyebrows
Hi, just wondering if anyone had straight here pre chemo and now has curly hair? My hair is very curly, fuzzy infact. Wondering if it will go or stay. Also, anyone had trouble getting eyebrows back? Did anything help? Cheers, Catherine331Views0likes19Comments
