Re: To remove ovaries or not ??
Hi @Greengirl, thanks for asking after me. It sounds like you have some difficult decisions ahead of you. Im sorry you’ve had difficulty with periods while on tamoxifen. That sounds really tough. I am sure you will come to the right decision in time - good on you for reaching out and asking others. I’m doing well thanks, haven’t posted on here for a while. My oncologist felt I did not need to go for ovary removal just now so I am just living life back to normal on tamoxifen. Hope to have some genetic counselling later this year to further inform me. So far no major side effects for me on tamoxifen thankfully. All went well with radiation. I’m feeling good, running every second day and enjoying feeling fit! Have signed up to a stupid 13km trail race next month - what was I thinking? best wishes Eightdays x34Views0likes0CommentsRe: Wishing @Stork and @eightdays a very Happy Birthday!
Hey thanks everyone for the beautiful birthday wishes! It was a beautiful day in my part of the world and my family enjoyed fish and chips in the sun. Very kind of you to drop me a note. Hope this finds everyone well and happy5Views1like0CommentsRe: ......And, we're back
Dear @Fiona2, thank you for your lovely message and that is awesome news that you have been in remission for 3 years. I wish cancer didn’t bring with it the anxiety of it possibly returning. It would be good if it were like chicken pox and that once you’ve had it, you’re unlikely to ever encounter it again! I think you are right though that treatments just get better and once you have already been through it once, it’s highly likely That if you are unlucky enough to get it again, it will be picked up early so that treatment will be effective again. My situation is apparently not common so I hope that you do not have too much anxiety when reading a post like mine. I too feel lucky that the treatment path is relatively straight forward again and I do not have to endure chemotherapy like some do. Wishing you all the very best - xx8Views1like0CommentsRe: ......And, we're back
Oh what a ride, @Tinks, I am wishing you all the best. Sorry you have had all of that to contend with. They have recommended soap free/unscented body wash and sorbolene cream. I hear moo goo is excellent except the chemist I went to didn’t have it. I think Priceline has it. I’ll let you know how they go. Take care, x8Views1like0CommentsRe: 27 recently Diagnosed
Hi @rella1 - just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Breast cancer research and treatment has come in leaps and bounds and continues to at such a rapid rate, it is well funded and we know so much more about BC than unfortunately we do about many other cancers. We are so lucky, even compared to 5-10 years ago! I know you probably don't feel lucky at the mo, but let others care for you, stay away from Google (you'll always find horrifying stuff there, even if you look up ingrown toe nail), hook up with others your age going through this, and be kind to you. Best wishes, hugs and good luck. xx8Views3likes0Comments
