Re: High Grade DCIS - radiotherapy
Had 3 weeks of radio. No chemo. Went straight to work after each early morning treatment. Bit of redness, no other effects. Long term? I’m two years on… muscles in tight side are a bit less flexible across the pec/ breast area… I stretch. Nothing else. From what I know about chemo, radio is relatively easy! ❤️102Views0likes0CommentsRe: Prolia jab
Hi @Pommy8 there is quite a bit of discussion and medical stuff about this treatment, mainly around jaw/dental stuff but also that it is associated with spinal fractures later… seems the way it works to build bone actually impedes natural bone growth so there can be issues when you stop. Sorry I am no expert so do your own research, but it is important to look at the details; best ❤️11Views0likes0Comments- 41Views0likes0Comments
Re: Newly diagnosed, now waiting, doesn’t feel real
I think you are in shock. And why wouldn’t you be? No one expects what is often a routine check to deliver such results. For me the shock was deferred and deflected initially by all the novel and shockingly efficient medical machinery that kicked in and the very quick surgery. For me the shock came after, when confronted with the reality of a wound and medication and then radiotherapy. I was lucky to have a small tumour and lumpectomy. But the feeling of dissociation and unreality returned often. And now I am “almost normal” I still feel it. I am changed. It is terrifying and shocking but it does become less shocking. Love and friendship helps. ❤️40Views1like0CommentsRe: New mum struggles just got more challenging
Hello from Perth too. You seem to have insight into how these unequal patterns can become embedded…you will need the partner here to step up. You don’t say what your diagnosis or treatment will entail but with a baby you are going to need to make it really clear to your partner about what you are going to need. Others recommend counselling…I think including your partner in all medical appointments is essential ❤️❤️50Views1like0CommentsRe: Joining the shitty titty club...
Also Perth here. Love the shitty titty. Mine was caught early … lumpectomy and radio…one year on am taking letrazole and am ok. But I find this forum comforting, because no matter the stage or the age, you need others around you. Take care x14Views4likes0Comments
