Information on reconstruction after Mastectomy please
Hello and thanks to all on this forum. I was informed on Wednesday that instead of having 2 lumpectomies on 10/2 on my Lobular cancer they will have to perform a Mastectomy as MRI showed more cancer than Ultrasound. I need to decide by Tuesday 31/1 about a reconstruction (if that’s even possible) can anyone help with their…

It is the first time I don’t want to be in the highest grades!!! 🙃. My next…

Questions around removal of the primary in metastatic treatment
I am VERY new here so I hope this is not a silly question..... I have been diagnosed and one of my first shocks was they were no longer going to remove the primary cancer. I understand they say the data does not indicate significant impact on survival however this data is also questionable on integrity as its so old too.…

Decisions on surgery
Hello Thank you for accepting me. I've just been diagnosed with ER+, PR+, HER2-. Absolutely devastated and am in shock. No signs, no symptoms, nothing on the breast on the mammogram - only 2 lymphs showed and were biopsied and confirmed, nothing on the breast MRI or PET, and only a slight shadow on the ultrasound. I've…

Overwhelmed new diagnosis
Just trying to cope with this whirlwind of a ride. Two weeks ago I was happily holidaying on Hamilton Island (the first holiday in three years) and this week I'm isolating at home after a positive Covid test, only to be told that I have Breast Cancer. Surely this week could not get any worse. The surgery, that was…

Post surgery
I’m 66 and a paraplegic. Just been diagnosed and having a mastectomy in 2 days time. I’ve decided to go for bilateral if she agrees and there’s enough time in the theatre but I want to know how much can you use your arms after surgery? I’ve got good support and want to get it over and done with. Love to hear from anyone…

Surgery decisions
@Sheeba original post copied from the activity section. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast hormone positive breast cancer in august 2021. The surgeon said because of the size of my breasts in relation to the tumour, 4cm, I would need a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiation or I could have chemotherapy first in…

Alone ... finding a surgeon
On the day I was given my biopsy results I was on my own. Apparently, it was the first day in 2022 that patients were allowed a support person when receiving pathology results ....but noone told me. All the signs at Breast Screen Vic stated that support people were asked to wait outside due to Covid. With it being really…
