6 month update!
I had my check up with the breast clinic a few weeks ago. The doc clearly hadn't read my notes properly as she was looking for the scar in the wrong place, noting how when it is around the nipple it is practically invisible - my scar is under my arm, nowhere near where she was looking. After locating the scar she had a feel around and commented on a hard lump I had also directed her to as I was finding it uncomfortable. She sent me for an ultrasound to check it out and as expected it was a large cyst. She offered to drain it and I accepted. I felt so much better with it drained, though she did warn it could refill. So far it hasn't and all is well :)
I have been diligently taking my Tamoxifen every morning and aside from a few night sweats early on that I can't say for sure were related as it was quite warm anyway, I've had no real issues. I am a bit achy and my right side is a bit tender some of the time, but not enough to disrupt my day-to-day. I had been worried as I've read so many stories of side-effects, but so far so good.
I've also started a new job, and that is keeping my brain engaged, no more fog.
I'll be back if there is anything to report, otherwise I'll post again after my next check up in 6 months.
As ever, thank you to all the wonderful ladies that post on this forum, it does make a difference knowing there are others that have been through it all and come out the other side.
