Hi LouiseR
How good that you DID go to the breast screening when you did and that everything has gone smoothly (or as smoothly as possible!) since! xx. Most of us can relate to many of the things you've mentioned - I had a similar treatment plan, tho ILC instead of IDC - and ended up on Anastrozole, tho my surgeon said I'd be on Tamoxifen (but it was not his area of expertise! 😉 ) .... Personally, I found the Rads to be the easiest of the lot and also got used to the daily ritual of attending - mine was for a full month & a couple of boosters - but I got SO emotional on the final day .... I thought I'd waltz in saying 'WOOHOO. LAST ONE' ... but I just burst into tears & was a snivelling mess instead! They were all so lovely too & such a great support - and having been a part of my daily routine for 'so long', I knew I would miss them.
Terrific that your treatment is all going well xx
With taking Tamoxifen - some members go thru hot flushes again - so, if you start getting lots of hot flushes, get onto it thru your Onc or GP - as there are some options out there. Fezolinetant (Veoza) is available now (a non hormonal treatment) and also Oxybutynin (used to control an overactive Bladder) is also a non hormonal treatment that reduces hot flushes ..... tho your Onc/GP may have some other options too.
It sounds like you are bouncing back well - so keep it up! Well done YOU xx ... Just keep doing everything that you love doing ....
take care & all the best
