Ready to start chemo!!!!

Hi Shazza, I am 39 have 3 children (11, 13 and 19) and have the same tumor as you. Mine was 30mm ER/PR/HER2 pos. my sentinel node was clear yay! So I am having 4 AC (have had 3 already) and 12 Taxol/Herceptin then 7 weeks of Radiotherapy and continue the Herceptin for 12 months and some kind of hormone blockade. My doc hasn't decided yet. I had a port put in just before Cycle 1. The "fabulous" thing about all of this is that I am a cancer nurse so I know everything that is going on, am being treated by friends and ex colleagues and could probably give my own chemo. In the beginning I thought knowledge is a curse but I now see it as a blessing. Hope you get through it all ok xxDanxx

All I have to offer is full support and my biggest wishes as this is going to be a shitty journey so remember to get on here at all times of the morning or night, I know it helped me to get through my TCH.

I have 3 more Herceptin to go and am done but do not worry about the Port, it is the best way to go and you wont have any vein collapse to worry about.

You are on the path now and no more horrid waiting, it will fly by and you wont have time to blink when you try to look back.

I can hardly remember what I was doing 1 year ago when my surgeries started.

Yes chemo was mostly deathly but I look back knowing I am alive and plan to stay that way.

P.s. if you can do labour 4 times you can do chemo on your head my dear,

Hi i was diagnosed 18 mnths ago with the same pathology grade 3 hormone positive her2 positive lymph node involvement. I had mastectomey AC chemo Taxol chemo Herceptin and Radiotherapy.Now on Aromasin for the next 5 to 10 years.I was diagnosed at 40 and have 2 children. Ive just had my ovaries removed as a preventative and am now in menopause. I wont lie and say its been easy its a lot to take in and both physicaly and mentaly its taken a toll on me. There is so much support out there and you realy need to seek it out.Ask lots of questions and ask for help.I was amazed of the kindness of family friends and strangers.And i met remarkable people going through the same journey as me. You need to focus one treatment at a time and not think to far ahead or it will drive you insame.Even though its an aggressive cancer we are lucky their is a lot of treatment they can attack it with. I am proof its doable.My hair has grown back i got married ive just moved to a new area and im the strongest ive ever felt.I know i can do anything now.I still fear reacurrance but i think thats normal. Good luck to you both as you start this shitty journey.just have faith in yourselves and your doctors surgeons oncologists and nurses. they are a blessing. Annie x
