I have an appointment next Thursday for the results. So am hoping it has not spread out of the breast. I had routine blood tests in May 2015 which showed I had low white blood cells, we went to the UK for a holiday & the GP said she would do repeat tests on our return in the July & they had returned to normal.

Hoping the cause was not the BC back then & I get a good result on Thursday.

I was discharged the day after the mastectomy & slept a lot better in my own bed. I cannot believe i had no pain after the op until today where it is just a slight nagging where the breast was. They did want me to go for a CT scan RE: the spleen but as I had an ultrasound in Jan which showed I had slight Hematosa they let me off that one, I'm not sure why they didn't pick that up with the CT scan that showed the lung.  

They will have their team meeting next Wednesday then call me back for the next step.

Feeling positive.

I was like the film rocky , I had the song in my head all the way in the car, I was so pumped I thought this is great , step one to get rid of bc. You will be asleep and awake  before you know it. Adean xx

Its an anxious time and we're all here for you. The staff I had for my lumpectomy last week were just the loveliest bunch of people. They were making jokes to try and keep my anxiety at bay. I took in an audio book on my mobile. Once I'd left hubby and was dressed waiting for theatre, they sat me in a comfy chair with a warming blanket over me. I plugged in my earphones to my book and reclined and just concentrated on the words in the book. Guess what, they had to wake me up to take me in as I'd nodded off :)  Good luck to you lovely, I'm sure you'll rock this!  xxx

Hi Eileen, I think we were all really nervous before our surgery, it's that great big unknown. But it's also the first step in getting rid of bc and a huge relief to finally be actively fighting it. I'll be praying for you tomorrow, that you know the peace that passes all understanding. Rest easy, Tracey??

Thank you Summer, Tracy & marlee. I have started to feel a bit better, hubby & my sister will be with me beforehand.

My sister just informed me that at 6.30 AM people in a  prayer chain will be praying for me.

I will keep trying the deep breathing technique. It amazes me how 1 minute I feel awful & the next can forget about it all. 

I will be thinking of you all & your kind words of wisdom tomorrow & hope it's not too long before I can get back on line.

Unfortunately it does mean you are on the afternoon list, I just had the same.

Usually afternoon list starts at 1pm. 

Like others, I was terrified 

Trust your medical team they will look after you. Try to breathe and take someone in with you.

I too am afraid of "going to sleep" but anesthetics have come a loooong way over the years. Tell the anesthetist or nurse you are felling very anxious, the majority of them a re lovely and very understanding, they may give you something beforehand to calm you? 

Try and get a good nights sleep and take something to the hospital with you to keep you distracted while waiting.... Remember to breathe Eileen...BREATHE IN COURAGE>>>BREATHE OUT FEAR...
