Hi All, My first post just had my second breast cancer removed , diagnosed 9 yrs ago with an aggressive tumor ,had chemo and Radiotherapy, this time other breast DCIS, I have a pacemaker so surgery was tricky for my surgeon, however he managed to negotiate around it and removed the whole tumor, No chemo or radio this time round,however this one is estrogen receptor positive so Arimidex has been recommended. It would be great to receive some positive feedback from anyone who has or is currently taking this medication it seems I can only find all the negative points and I don't want to look too hard at the negatives. I am a positive person so wamt to find a way to get on with this. I hope I am able to get some feedback. Thanks

    Hi  thanks for the feedback that is what I am afraid of is the hot flushes omg just seems I have slowed down on the menopause symptoms and here we go again hey, my diagnosis seems small compared to others whom I feel for deeply, chemo is definitely no fun. Had a fabulous Xmas with family and as it is so hot in Perth I won't be doing a great deal for a couple of days. Sheree

    Hi,

    I too had breast cancer twice with a 9 year gap between surgeries but in the same breast. I had a mastectomy in 2013. Mine is estogen positive. I was on Tamoxafin for 5 years the first time and now I've been on Arimidex for 2 years now - side effects hot flushes , that's all. Keep well, best wishes xx

    Hi there, welcome to the site.  Sorry to hear about the new diagnosis but I'm pleased all has gone well so far. I'm not on any meds now as I wasn't hormone receptive at all so am afraid I can't help. I'm sure someone will be along soon to give you some more info. Take care and have a lovely Christmas.     Hi and welcome to the site.Good to hear your surgery went well. I cant tell you to much about Arimidex I have just started about 2-3 weeks ago. I was on Tamoxifan for about 12 months and my last viist with my oncologist suggested I try Arimidex, so I had a blood test and decided I would change. As I haven't been on it long no issues at the moment few aches and pains but not much than before.. Good luck have a safe Christmas ad enjoy
