so they spent $4,508,400 in Salaries .... HOW many staff do they have ?
so where did the other $814,137 come from ?
BCNA’s income in 2016 according to its latest report was $7,855,863 and it comes from the following sources:
Events: 7%
Corporate partnerships: 35%
Appeals, donations, bequests: 29%
Government grants, contracts: 13%
Community fundraising: 12%
Other: 4%
BCNA’s expenditure in 2016 was $8,670,000 and it's used for the following purposes:
Salaries: 52%
Administration: 10%
Support for events: 12%
Non-salary costs, IT, etc: 25%
Depreciation: 1%
Looking through this latest report shows how much the "pink lady" iconography contributes to BCNA's corporate image. And looking at other pink charities, including those worldwide, it's the same. Pink equals dollars. Even when so much of the money is spent on yet more awareness raising and duplicate research, the bucks keep rolling in. The allure is obvious, pink is for women suffering from breast cancer, pink is for lost breasts, pink is for young women diagnosed, often with kids in tow. Pink is for those deceased.
Give us even more money please and we'll raise yet more awareness.
I believe people on this thread get this, management either doesn't understand, or doesn't want to know. They'd prefer we went back to making the BNCA forum a success and they'll run the charity as they feel fit.

I hope you don't think I was criticizing you.
Sometimes people post something on-line and we don't know or think about all the hidden details. I am happy that I helped you to understand the role BCNA plays in all the crap we members have to endure. As you say, they are certainly valuable in what they do. - Thanks @Summerhill38 for this. I wasnt saying that it isnt a valuable organisation merely that I had used and appreciated BCNAs services but surprised I had never bothered to really find out anything about it.

You are correct in that the BCNA does not have anything to do with research fundraising.

Yep, but the long time in getting a response gave people the dissatisfaction factor enough to go looking for more. Cannot blame the troops. I don't think anyone has criticized the work of BCNA to date, have they ?
The name change has stirred up emotions - simple. - We can all have an opinion about the name of a magazine, or even how an organisation is structured. But it's just an opinion. I certainly don't know enough about BCNA jobs to comment on what they pay people. Let's not lose sight of achievements over a disagreement about a name.
- All I can say is "are there any vacancies ?". In my time as 2IC of a private hospital in Melbourne the pays were low low low and we did it because we supported the cause. Wish I had my time all over again - I lived soooooooooooo close to those pink lady cutouts on the windows .....................
- Jeez that’s around $110000 per staff member - quite lucrative working for a not for profit.
