🧑‍🤝‍🧑Today, BCNA took to Parliament House: Advocating for Change

Today, BCNA’s Director of Policy & Advocacy, Vicki Durston, stood at Parliament House to champion the voices of those living with metastatic breast cancer.

Her mission has been clear: every person must be counted in all states and territories. Accurate data is essential to ensure equitable access to care, resources, and support for those who need it most.

This is a powerful step toward recognition and better outcomes for the metastatic breast cancer community.

  • Being counted I hope brings together the understand that resources for those of us walking this winding often steep pathway can get the understanding of just how many of us there are and from that the support in the right areas. We might look great on the outside but hey those rosy cheeks aren’t always from healthy body. How each step you take is a grinding ache. Always in the back of our mind is, is there further progression .

cranky_granny you are exactly right! We need to highlight the unseen challenges so many face every day. It’s true on the outside, things can look fine, but inside it can feel like every step is a battle. Thank you for reminding us why being counted matters: it’s not just about numbers, but about making sure the right support reaches those who need it most. Conversations like this help us all move forward to a better future as a community.
