Hi members,

As you many of you may already be aware, The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has approved a fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine for people with weakened immune systems. BCNA's My Journey article regarding COVID-19 Vaccine has been updated to include more information:

https://myjourney.org.au/article/3455

This information can also help you think about questions to ask your treating team about having the vaccine. If you are currently having treatment such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy or immunotherapy, you should discuss the type and timing of vaccination with your specialist.

(This has also been posted in the Cancer Australia FAQs COVID-19 Vaccine thread https://onlinenetwork.bcna.org.au/discussion/23241/cancer-australia-faqs-covid-19-vaccine/p1 which you may like to bookmark)

Thanks. My mum in law was given a third astra  for her 3rd shot, immunocomprimised. But then when they started doing boosters for everyone and omnicron started getting bad,  she was panicing at christmas time because she wasn't given phizer and felt very unprotected. Hopefully now she will  feel better knowing she can soon have a 4th and have some P.

While Pfizer is considered to have a higher protection level than AstraZeneca, there is some indication that AZ protection lasts longer. But a combination seems the way to go. But
