Oh @arpie what a great post!
Can't think of a song at present as I am still giggling at last night's news report dress up to put your bins out.
Everyone looked glamorous but there was a stand out - someone in the whole shebang outfit, Cher, when she sang If I could turn back time - what a cracker!
Take care and keep safe xx

If anyone is a fan of Andrew Lloyd Weber, they are showing one of his musicals every week on YouTube.  It's released Saturday morning and only available for 48 hours.  This weeks is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdmPjhKMaXNNeCr1FjuMvag is the link

I am enamoured with Gregorian Chants. They are my 'go to' when sleep evades me.

Bit like Buddist Monk chants. Loved visiting the Buddist Temples when I lived in India back in the '70's.

Thank you SO MUCH, @iserbrown - I was watching that the other day, after seeing it showcased on Australian Story!!   It was a colossal amount of work to stitch all 1000+ voices into the one recording ...... we are using Zoom for our 'online Ukulele practises' now that we can't meet up in person - and I know how tricky it is just coping with 20 people online, let alone 1000+!!

Here are more of the Pub Songs to listen to.  Many towns/cities have their own version - I know Port Macquarie does.

I thought the Couch Choir was amazing but to descend into the more mundane, our self-isolating family had some fun yesterday with "Always look on the bright side of life" after all, Easter's coming.  Then my husband and I lost the kids completely with our rendition of "Shake your tail feather".  Oh well, I've lost all my opportunities to embarrass the kids, otherwise.

Shake Your Tail Feather??  I must look that one up,@Sister!  LOL  Have you got them playing Uke yet??  LOL

One of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE groups is The Seekers ...... they just do such bouncy great 'sing along' songs

Here is the Farewell Show in 1968 - that was the year I saw them at the Sydney Town Hall.  I've since seen them 3 more times, including twice in NZ.

I just LOVE Whistling Rufus .... Judith is an accomplish Jazz Pianist

For 32 Seekers songs - just put this in ONE tab as the songs will cycle thru - and then continue working on other TABS (unless on an iPad.)  It is terrific having bouncy music on in the background as you work around the house! (Hopefully they don't put too many adverts in between!)

And if you like a specific 'era' of music, go to Youtube sites like this - they have hours of each era loaded up, ready to go!

It can be the 50s, 60s, 70s etc or be Jazz, Pop, Rock, Motown ... choose your favourite period HERE:

If you are into 'instrumental' (and the 60s had some BRILLIANT stuff) - check this out

Or if your tastes run to classical, you can keep listening to ABC Classic FM, which has instituted dance classes (music to dance to at home) and singalongs (familiar classics suitable for belting out!). Music of any description helps!

Did anyone see Australian Story - James Morrison and his friendship with Don Burrows?

I was very moved by it and the fact that the music was still with him despite his dementia

Recently I stumbled upon a lovely version of "I Am, We Are, You Are Australian" sung in Yaruwu by the children of Broome.

Short clip but delightful and in these trying times of social isolation reminds us that we are in this "All Together."

Unfortunately I still haven't mastered the skill of inserting music files, so you will have to do it the long way by Googling Youtube "Iam - Yaruwu".
