Help please

I don't know if I am allowed to ask this as I have only just joined the community. Does anyone have a link to a list of medical oncologists specialising in metastatic breast cancer?

Sorry to see you here, @GJH_104 - we should be able to answer most of your questions - and also get lots of support, comfort & advice along the way.  You can vent away as well, if you like.  xx

What town/state do you live in?  You can add it to your 'profile' - that way people will be able to help you with services available in your town or nearby.

It was my medical team that gave me a couple of choices re my own Onc (but I am not mets.)  As I understand it, most Oncs deal with Mets treatment as well as BC treatment.

Take care - feel free to put up a brief story of your BC treatment to date - then others who've had the same may well be able to contribute more to the thread xx

    Hi @arpie
Currently feeling very vulnerable, emotional and disillusioned....

Unpleasant experience when it comes to consistency of treatment team first time round left me feeling uninformed, cheated, very angry and abandoned.

Now to find that I have secondaries 12 years later I am pretty wary about who I have on my team and want to make sure I find the absolute best team.

That's a real bummer, @GJH_104 -  a few of us have had some upsetting experiences with our treatment/experiences and it makes us very vulnerable & sceptical ..... so fair enough in wanting the best straight up .....

I have 2 buddies who've recently been diagnosed with mets after 15 years 'NED' .... so am aware of how much of a shock it is.  Both were told it was 'slow growing' & their treatment should be able to control it ....  hopefully yours as well.

If you make contact with the North West Cancer Centre in Tamworth - it may be a start .....

So sorry the shit fest has made a return appearance @GJH_104. Most of my medicos have been great but one of them is horrible. And one is truly vulnerable at these times. It is so important to trust in your team I agree. I hope you can find the right people for you. Sending you some love and a big hug. K xox
