Biocell implants by Allergan recalled

Europe has taken Biocell implants by Allergan off the Market.

Other rough textured implants were withdrawn earlier in the year. 
Australia's TGA has yet to decide 

They are believed to cause a rare blood cancer. 3 Aussies are believed to have died from it

    The one earlier in the year was a different brand i believe, also a rough textured one

    After the news tonight that Europe has banned the Allergan textured implants, is anyone concerned? I had mine inserted in 2012, they say it takes about 7 years for the issues to arise so should I be worried?

    Peter Mac is not being that forthcoming about exactly  what sort of implants I have. These aren't even a matching pair-- there both been replaced three times but it's taken five operations since 2006 to do that. Crapolla. With icing :/

    Oh dear, that doesn't sound good @Zoffiel !  They all have a serial Number & can be traced to the original manufacturer - so should be recorded on your medical/surgical notes !   Is it the surgeon who isn't telling you, or the office staff.  Maybe you need to go higher to the ombudsman or manager of the hospital to find out - as it is very important you know, in case of rupture ! xx

    I’m not rushing to change my textured Allergan implants removed at this stage. Mine have been in for over 7 years, and I still see my oncologist and my surgeon each 6 months apart. I also have an ultrasound yearly, so hoping that these measures will detect any suspicious changes early enough to deal with this rare cancer if unlucky enough to get it.

    Hi Chris, I think we had treatment at the SAN at the same time! I’m similar to you but have never had an ultrasound. My breast surgeon told me I don’t need it. Did you request it or one of the specialists?

    hi everyone, It’s been some years since I was active on the site, much has changed and I’m struggling to find a discussion board on RUPTURED IMPLANTS, discovered after feeling so sick. Words no one wants to hear, but here I am, awaiting replacement in 3 weeks and pretty disgusted by the manufacturers warranty financial assistance. I would dearly love to discuss and gleam any insights. Thanks.
