Wow! I had a breast MRI this morning and I was not mentally prepared for that experience. Firstly, they couldn't find a good vein for the cannula and had to use an ultra sound to find a vein so I was feeling a bit whoozy after that and then straight into the machine and I wasn't prepared for the extreme noise and the type of noise. I think I was right on the verge of a panic attack. Glad to have that behind me.

@Tracey2800, I am sorry that you find yourself here too!  I am certainly feeling a certain amount of relief since seeing the surgeon yesterday. I'm glad your journey to recovery is underway. I've also found being open and honest the best path. I have felt totally wrapped up in love.
Take care and keep us posted.❤️❤️

Yes, @CathyMac - it can be quite claustrophobic & the noise is most peculiar! xxx

All the best for your recovery now, @Tracey2800 - onwards & upwards xxx

Thank you @CathyMac and @arpie, I’m known for saying ‘onwards and upwards’ it’s become a bit of a catch cry of mine so your comment made me smile xx

@Tracey2800 @CathyMac I've never felt so loved as when I was going through chemotherapy. Extraordinary experience.

It's true. I've never felt so loved as during the past year. So many people wanting to do so much for me. From the other side of the world as well - parcels with books and a constant stream of emails. It's been delicious. <3

Welcome @Tracey2800.  I don't know what it is about Christmas but there seems to be a lot of new members.  I was one of the newbies last Christmas!

@Sister, not that any time is good, but this time of year poses all sorts of challenges with specialists going on break, Christmas Day preparations and general business! It feels like I’m racing against the clock to try and fit everything in.

Today I had a ring from my surgeon who had the results of my MRI. The tumour is bigger than indicated on the mammogram, so she's thinking a mastectomy now. I'd reconciled the partial mastectomy and now I'm struggling to come to terms with a change in the plan, exacerbated by the fact that today I should have been flying out for the holiday of a lifetime. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to pick myself up again and see the silver linings.

So sorry @CathyMac. It's almost always the way. Mine was double the size from the mammogram. You probably haven't thought about reconstruction, but make sure you speak to your surgeon about it so you know your options. Hang in there. Big hug. K xox
